Sunset Caribbean Smash

 

Mandarin and rum make the perfect pair. They taste especially great in this tropical tipple.

INGREDIENTS

  • 30ml Mandarin Shrub Syrup

  • 30ml Rum

  • Soda water

  • Mandarin wheel and rosemary for garnish

  • Mandarin Dust


    METHOD
    Add Mandarin Shrub Syrup and rum to a glass with ice. Top with soda water and stir. Garnish with a rim of Mandarin Dust, and wheel of mandarin, and a sprig of rosemary.

INGREDIENTS

  • 60ml Gin

  • 30ml The Curious Cabinet Boysenberry Shrub

  • Dash of bitters

  • Bay leaf to garnish


METHOD
Shake gin, Shrub Syrup, dash of bitters in a shaker with ice. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a bay leaf.

INGREDIENTS

  • 30ml The Curious Cabinet Pink Grapefruit Shrub Syrup

  • 30-60ml Tequila / Mezcal

  • Soda water

  • Grapefruit or Rosemary to garnish


METHOD
Add Pink Grapefruit Shrub Syrup, tequila/mezcal and soda water to a tall glass with ice. Adjust to taste. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary or sliced Pink Grapefruit.

NOTES

Our ratios above can be tweaked to your liking. Add more Shrub Syrup if you like the taste a bit stronger, or for a lighter flavour add more soda water.

  • 60ml The Bellarine Distillery Teddy & The Fox Gin

Add Gin & Shrub Syrup to a glass with lots of ice. Top with soda & a squeeze of lime.

INGREDIENTS
60ml Cognac

45ml The Curious Cabinet Cherry Shrub Syrup

30ml Red vermouth

2.5ml Absinthe

3 Dashes chocolate bitters


METHOD
Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry. Serve.

Curious Christmas Mocktails & Cocktails

 

Thanks to The Tea Nomad for these delicious Christmas recipes featuring both our Mandarin and our Cherry Shrub Syrups paired with their delicious Noel Tea.

NOËL SANTA-GRIA (cocktail)

Method: stir all with ice and a sprig of rosemary until super chilled. Then strain into glass and garnish with rosemary. 

NOËL CHERRY SPRITZER (mocktail)

- 6 parts of Noël, cold brewed*

- 1 part The Curious Cabinet Dark Cherry Shrub Syrup

- splash of soda water

This mocktail spritzer is the perfect lunch or picnic accompaniment. The tea and shrub syrup mix can be made ahead of time and kept in the fridge, then served with a slice of orange and a splash of soda water.

*To cold brew Noël, simply add 4 tsp of tea to 1L cold water. Allow to sit for 4+ hours (or just make it the night before).

A curious twist on a Dark and Stormy, our Dark Cherry Shrub Syrup or Shrub Elixir pair beautifully with Dark Rum in this delicious concoction.

INGREDIENTS

Pour rum and Cherry Shrub Syrup into a highball glass with lots of ice. Top with soda. Add a squeeze of lime. Stir gently & garnish with a slice or wedge of lime.

Strawberry Shrub Gold Rush

 

We were thrilled to have our Strawberry Shrub Syrup featured in a cocktail by Aus Botanicals. Try this with your favourite Single Malt Whiskey, we recommend Blackwoods Distilling Co.

Here’s how to make it:

INGREDIENTS
60ml Single Malt Whiskey
30ml Strawberry Shrub Syrup
22.5ml lemon juice
60ml grapefruit juice
Ice


METHOD
Add all ingredients including ice to the cocktail shaker and give a really vigorous shake! Double strain into cocktail glass.

Garnish with a citrus rose.

Sit back and enjoy!
